The idea is to have the 15 inch LCD monitor use the least power possible and preferable DC because it is to be powered by a solar system. Would anyone recommend a suitable candidate ? Thank you

I never heard of a dc monitor, you’d have to use an inverter to ac probably, run off a battery. I don’t know what your alphabet soup means, so I’ll shut up now.
Wouldn’t a laptop be a better way to go? They use about the same as a stand along lcd screen would.
You will have tremendous, tremendous difficulty finding a 1280×1024 15″ LCD monitor.
Aside from the resolution (1280×1024, or SXGA), the following model meets your requested specs:

i don’t think you can but I’m sure that if you put a hard drive with linux installed in it maybe it would work
people just buy the $29 upgrade disk and use a boot cd, much better
Arrowdale Art Studio posted a photo:
The week’s output. A four inch square box – the blue up in the upper left corner, with lid, that’s ready to be baked upside down. The top is “inlaid” with some fancy cane work; Faron’s barn; beads from faux bone, into which I’ll insert magnets – those tiny, powerful earth magnets – for a closure for that necklace; some texture sheets I’ve been fooling around with; a wee house to sell in my shop, a small bowl for rings – I think I may give it to my friend to go with the box; a stamped heart to be sanded off for a chatoyant effect, a few odd pins and pendants, including some from the flag cane I made after I finished my wee house – it just looked as though it needed a flag.
what made is kind of laptop
Awsome!!!! ^_^
Stuff like this from Toskala is rare nowadays
OK, and then what? Is this a question or a list of things to buy at the grocery?
I would say running is good.
Hope this helped.
Good luck!
Have a nice day.
Remember your 1706FPV has a maximum resolution of 1280×1024, with a maximum 60Hz refresh rate. If you try to display any resolution or refresh rate higher than that, you will get that error message.
Also, the 1706FPV is an old narrow-screen non-HDCP-compliant monitor. If you are trying to hook up a device that requires HDCP like a Sony Playstation 3, that's what happens also.
