is a backlight for a 15″ LCD monitor worth replacing ?

Its a Samsung 152V
if the backlight has gone on a 15" inch LCD monitor, am I better just buying a new monitor ?
would I be able to replace it cheaply myself and likely get >$120 on ebay for the monitor ?
Or should I just bin it ?
